New casino hotel opened in Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, the World Resorts opens up a new megacasino – the first in many years. The time fits very well with the shows planned for July 4th.

The casino hotel and its numerous offers

The Casino Hotel Resorts World was developed by the Malaysia Genting Group and, with over 35,000 square meters of space, is one of the largest projects in Las Vegas. The hotel rooms will largely operate Hilton and Conrad. But there is also a Crockfords luxury hotel with a private entrance and direct access to the more exclusive arcades. With the 75,000 square meters in space, which is available in the Resorts World for Meetings, and a theater with 5,000 seats, the resort of casino hotels in Las Vegas is how Bellagio or Venetian. Seven pools, 40 restaurants and bars and their own shopping center can also be found in the Resorts World. Furthermore, the Resort World is planning a connection to the planned tunnel for Teslas, which should transport conferences around the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The original, not completed project – Echelon Place – was bought in 2012 by the Malaysia Genting Group from the Boyd Gaming Corp. For the Boyd Group’s plan, the Stardust Casino, famous in the 1950s, had to give way. But the construction work stalled. Only through the sale to the Gentting Group did the project recorded, albeit, among other things, again. Another project in the area, originally called Fontainebleau, is still waiting for the completion. Like the Echelon Place, the project was put on hold. But only in February bought Koch Industries Inc the site. However, it will still take time for a completion.

With visitors, normality returns to Las Vegas

However, the opening of the World Resort can already be celebrated. Especially suitable with regard to the reopening of many Casinos in Las Vegas after the Corona restrictions from last year. Already in April Las Vegas had a number of visitors of around 2.6 million people. This corresponds to about 73 percent of the number of visitors that were recorded before pandemic in April 2019. According to a report by Fitch Ratings in March, Las Vegas could be able to record up to 90 percent of the 2019 income again at the end of 2023. MGM Resorts International Boss – Bill Hornbuckle – expects this at the end of 2023. According to him, “the general public feels really healthy for the first time in a year” and just as well in the business sense.

The loosening started carefully about a year ago with strict regulations such as mask obligation, plexiglass panes between slot machines and limited usage capacity. Now these are increasingly loosened and visitors return to gaming city. Conventions should slowly take place again. In addition, masks within casinos for fully vaccinated should be completely eliminated. Even if a certain caution is still noticeable, normality is slowly returning in Las Vegas.

Exactly this reopening and return of Las Vegas is to be celebrated on July 4th. Among other things, pop star Miley Cyrus is to appear in the World Resorts. This concert is then to be transferred live-directly to the not entirely 30,500 square meter LED screen on the facade of the World Resort. In addition, fireworks are to be fired from seven casino roofs. The chairman of the World Las Vegas-Scott Sibella resort-said that the operators of the casino hotel are very happy to be able to celebrate the opening at such a time.
