Nominations for Vixio awards are known

The Vixio awards will be awarded for the fifth time. The award will take place on October 21st in London. The Global Regulatory Awards are awarded to companies and people from the gambling sector, which were selected by the Prüforganization Vixio Gambling Compliance. A good player protection, loyalty to rule and social responsibility are criteria in order to be able to maintain an award.

Categories treat current topics

The awards were awarded for the first time in 2017. Since the current trends and topics of the gambling industry are different every year, different categories are also selected every year. These are then adapted to the currently important topics. A total of 16 judges who come from the industry themselves decide on nominations and the award ceremony, but are considered “independent experts”. The jury includes, for example, by Jaldung from the European Casino Association, Jon Duffy from Gentting Casinos UK, Khalid Ali from the International Betting Integrity Association – Ibia – and Richard Flint from Flutter Entertainment.

Last Thursday, the test organization published the shortlist, where many internationally known names from the gambling sector can be found. Groups from American-speaking countries and several British gambling companies are also listed. Awards can be obtained in 20 categories. These are then characterized by companies around the player protection, social responsibility and the compliance with the rules.

Compared to previous years, according to Vixio, significantly more companies and people would have made it into the first pre -selection. This can be explained above all by the growth of the global gambling market. This is how this is growing at a rapid pace, as more and more countries legalized gambling and sports betting. The competition was therefore never as big as this year. “While industry is developing an ever larger compliance culture, the standards are getting higher every year. Our assessment process is extremely strict and the competition for the awards is very high. It is therefore already a significant success ”.

Nominated companies

For the category “Compliance Team of the Year”, Greentube-a subsidiary of Novomatic-and Gauselmann -a gambling size from Westphalia-nominated. The former company has also given chances to receive a second award through the nomination in the “Anti-money laundering team of the year” category.

However, the company Entain from Great Britain could receive even more awards. The group is nominated five times in four categories. The categories are dedicated to player protection, sports integrity and regulatory compliance. But Entain is not the only company that has been nominated several times. The Maltese Gaming Innovation Group-Gig for short-has been represented several times in the categories that are dedicated to responsible gambling, player protection technology and innovation.

Are also among the nominees Payment service provider Like Paysafe and Muchbetter, player protection organizations such as YGAM, Beacon POSSELING Trust and Gamban and associations such as the American Gaming Association.

Corona pandemic shapes categories

All nominated persons and companies have proven progress, resistance and adaptability regarding regulatory changes. This year, however, the focus is clearly on the area of responsible gambling and player protection. This is due to the developments of the game behavior during Corona pandemic. Many young people, especially young people, spent more time with online gambling during the Lockdowns. The player protection therefore got an even more important role.

Which companies are now receiving awards will be announced in London as part of an award ceremony on October 21 of this year. However, it remains to be seen whether the ceremony can take place as planned, or whether the Corona pandemic is putting a strain on the whole plans.
