Palm’s department and casino reopened after more than two years

It was finally time at the end of April. The Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas have opened its doors again. The casino and the resort were closed for two years because of the global corona pandemic. Shortly before the pandemic, the renovation work was ended for around $ 600 million. Due to the closed doors, the guests had nothing from the renovated state -of -the -art complex. As befits, Palms was reopened with a large fireworks display and in time for the National Football League (NFL) Draft in Las Vegas. From now on, Palms is to be led to great shine under the new owner family.

New owners bring plenty of experience

Shortly before the end of the opening, hand was created again in the different areas and the last work was completed. Latisha Casas, chair of the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority (SMGHA), beamed at both baking: “We look forward to bringing our rich history, culture and distinctive hospitality closer to our guests. We can’t wait to write history together ”.

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians bought the resort and casino for $ 650 million from Red Rock Resorts and received the license from the Nevada Gaming Commission in December 2021. Previously, the family, which is one of the American indigenous people, had shown in the Yaamava ’Resort & Casino in San Manuel that they understand the business. Yaamava ’started as a small bingo hall 35 years ago. In the meantime, it is one of the leading travel destinations in South California for games and entertainment. Numerous analysts, such as Josh Swissman Strategy Organization, agree that the new owners will successfully run the property. Companies around the department hope for an upswing themselves. It was also known that William Hill received the license to manage sports betting in the Palms.

Numerous employees return

With new color, art, light installations, floors, restaurants and bars, a new hint of the Palms Resort and Casino. The 94,065 square meter casino comprises around 1,500 slot machines. The guests can continue to Baccarat, Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Craps and Pai Gow Poker.

With 700 hotel rooms and suites, Palms is more than just a casino. The Hardwood suite has a basketball square and the cinema duite has a 98-inch screen. There are also numerous restaurants from casual to the upscale style, 21,000 square meters of conference and congress rooms and a theater with 2,500 seats. 14 smaller cinemas with a size of up to 200 places are available for business presentations and private film screenings. A lush ballroom and breakout rooms as well as pools and a spa with 20 treatment rooms complete the offer.

The resort is only five miles from Harry Reid international airport. The property brings with it around 1,400 jobs. Around half of the employees were hired again after they had to be released by the former owners because of Corona. The Palms should not only be aimed at tourists, but also be attractive for locals. “Palms is an icon of Las Vegas with a rich story and a deep connection to our community,” said Cynthia Kiser Murphey, General Manager of Palms.
