Starting the blocking system Oasis – great demand in the industry

For a long time in USA over the Gambling State Treaty debated. Again and again the European Commission complained about the contract. Therefore, the state had to do several times. Last year, the Prime Minister of the federal states finally agreed to re -regulate the gaming market. For the first time, the European Commission had no thanks and gave the green light. The new contract came into force in 2021 on July 1st. In addition to numerous restrictions, a player system was also imposed as a requirement. At the beginning of August, the nationwide and cross -formal blocking system OASIS was activated.

Already submitted 3,000 applications

As the regional council of Darmstadt (RP) announced in a press release on August 4, 3,000 machines and arcade operators have already submitted an application for the new system. For this purpose, the regional council specially developed an IT system in order to ensure a smooth process. According to the RP, the system runs stable and the team works under high pressure. The first usage contracts were successfully sent on Tuesday of this week.

“This allows the organizers’ individual operating facilities to be connected to Oasis promptly, so that player protection in USA can be taken into account even better in the future,” said government vice president Dr. Stefan Fuhrmann. The RP sees that this system has been in use in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate for several years.

System now nationwide

The system tested in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate is now to be used nationwide. According to a lock, it should no longer be possible to take part in public gambling nationwide. As an exception, the RP only mentions lotteries. The central blocking file is to be operated via the RP. In addition to registration of the individual operators, it is possible for the players to be blocked. The lock for the players can take place themselves or through third -party persons. With all gambling providers, there will be a person check at the entrance in the future. There the data is compared with the blocking data. If there is a lock, the person must be denied the entrance to the hall. A distinction will be made between temporary and unlimited blocks. Unlimited deadlines can be dissolved after one year at the earliest.

Provider convinced according to the survey

According to a survey of the Oasis player system, the providers are satisfied with the first experiences. 90 percent of the 48 participants stated that they applied for a connection. About half of them for arcades and around 16 percent for restaurants. Over a third is said to have created an application for both arcades and the gastronomy. The majority stated that there were no technical defects or problems of understanding during the application.

However, there were problems when filling out the online form, since the information is often inaccurate. In particular, the possible information in operating facilities or the registration of gastronomic facilities. In addition, there were legal problems in connection with country -specific regulations. Conjections often occurred here. However, the RP stated that the processing in the country -specific cases has now been adjusted.

Long way to complete implementation

The first steps read as promising, but the RP is far from a complete coverage of the OASIS system. There are over 10,000 arcades in USA. In addition, the number of betting shops is estimated to be an average four -digit number. There are also numerous other providers and the companies from the Online sector. Therefore, it can be expected that it will take some time before all applications have been received and processed.
