Survey: online gambling and more popular

At least for the providers of online gambling, Corona pandemic has brought an advantage. More and more providers are reporting in press releases of increasing sales and records. In their International Gambling Report, the International Data and Analytics Group YouGov now confirmed this trend.

The study of the opinion research institute can be seen clearly that more and more players are preferring the online game to the offline offer of the different providers. In addition, it turns out that this applies not only to USA, but numerous other countries.

Over half of the respondents prefer the online game

Big part only plays out for fun

In his study, YouGov not only asked what kind of game is more popular, but also researched the different motifs. In the 13 markets surveyed, the players stated that 41 percent only played for fun. In particular, the conversation should be in the foreground. 31 percent want to experience the feeling of profit and 27 percent play for the big profit.

However, there are large differences in the individual variants. 42 percent of the lottery players make up for a profit and at the Poker Play 61 percent mainly for fun. With slots it is 53 percent and 57 percent in sports betting. Somewhat surprising, however, it is not the slots that are most preferred in USA, but online lotteries (58 percent) in front of sports betting (21 percent).

Interest in arcades disappears

While the online game is becoming increasingly popular, the days of the arcade seem counted. The halls were closed for a long time due to Corona. Regulations in the tests also apply if you want to play. In addition, more and more arcades have to make ways in some federal states. The reason is minimum distances that have to be observed between the halls. Likewise, the halls in front of schools or kindergartens must keep a certain distance.

Some federal states want a transitional regulation and still give the arcades time. Others, on the other hand, are already strictly implemented. This opens the online game door to continue the success. Another aspect besides the state regulations is certainly that the game world of offline slots has made only low progress in recent years. In contrast, there are always new technologies in the online world that attract players and provide fun with the game.
